We exist to support the many, many individuals, small groups and organisations who are offering Peer Support throughout the Tees Valley, either formally or informally, using lived experience. It’s crucial that we keep hearing from our members, about what support you need, what training you’d like to see provided, wellbeing sessions, or events you’d like. We’ve put together a quick, simple form for you to submit any questions, comments or feedback. You can leave your name, or make them anonymous if you so wish. Click here to let us know!

On 13th March, 25 of the Network members attended our first Wellbeing Day at the Riverside Stadium.  The Team worked hard to put together a day that would mean Peers could leave feeling upbeat and like their cup had been refilled. The day began with a Network Update, we then had a singalong (and some of us danced!) with the wonderful Chris from The Rise Up Community CIC.   Terry Doyle then took us through some thoughts around Wellbeing and Resilience which really struck a chord with a lot of us in the room. After lunch (which was very nice, I have to say!), we split into 2 groups to do an hour's Co-reflection, talking about how our work can impact on us, our own mental health and steps we can take to look after ourselves. Peers then had a chance to take part in either a Sound Bath or a Mobility Flow to finish off the day. Feedback on the day included:- Great day. More events needed More socialising to meet other peers I really enjoyed the sound bath, getting together to eat and chat More Wellbeing Days like today would be great An opportunity to meet on a more regular basis Wellbeing Days each quarter would be greatly appreciated –P.S. thank you for today, it is appreciated more than you can know! Plans are afoot for smaller Wellbeing Days in each area, quarterly whole Network Days and more chances to get together.  Keep an eye on your emails and our social media

We have slightly changed the way that the grant and bursary application has been running: Tees Valley Peer Support Network have Grant Funding to distribute for Peer Support projects around the Tees Valley who are offering people support with their mental health or associated issues. We are also able to offer funding for Core Costs for organisations delivering Peer Support services. Ideally projects and sessions will be run as follows: ·  Sessions where people can turn up without booking ·  Available within a Community Setting (Community Centre, Church Hall or similar) ·  Easily accessible including wheelchair access ·  Inclusive– available to all (if for one particular community/group accessible to all i.e. Women only – so accessible to all women) ·  No assessment requirement Funding is now available on a rolling programme until either 31st March 2025 or until the funding pot has been spent.  The funding panel will meet regularly and decisions will be made on an ongoing basis. A new grant application form and bursary form is now available. Email us if you’d like a copy of the form(s).

Are you part of the Tees Valley Peer Support Network and looking for guidance or just a safe space to talk? We’re thrilled to share that experienced Peers are now available to offer mentoring support to anyone in our network who may need it. Whether you’re facing a unique challenge with someone you support, navigating a tricky situation in your role, or simply have concerns you'd like to talk through, our peer mentors are here to help. In the mental health field, it’s essential to have a network of support not just for those we help, but for ourselves as well. We understand that the work you do can be rewarding but also challenging, and having someone to talk things over with can make all the difference. This mentoring initiative aims to create a stronger, more connected network, providing a reliable space for reflection, learning, and growth. Connecting with one of our Peers is easy. Just call us at 07871 658157 or send an email to Mandy at mandy@teesvalleypeersupport.co.uk to learn more about this mentoring support. Together, we can build a community of support that uplifts each member and strengthens our collective impact across the Tees Valley region. Don’t hesitate to reach out—sometimes, a simple conversation with a fellow professional can provide clarity, fresh perspectives, and renewed energy to keep making a positive difference.
